Fletcher sells head office premises for $36 million

Auckland head office premises of Fletcher Building have been sold to Bay of Plenty property development company Carrus Corporation for $36 million.
Philip King, general manager investor and media relations said, “The Penrose property, which includes an eight-storey building and vacant land, was bought from Macquarie Goodman about 18 months ago to restructure the lease arrangements.”
He added, “The sale price achieved was in excess of the book value but the company would not say how much that was.”

An advice to remain really careful has being handed over to Manawatu motorists, following the heavy rains which caused surface flooding in Palmerston North and Wanganui today.
It was confirmed by the Palmerston North police that delays were most probable to happen and that the areas of serious flooding were being managed by the council authorities.
Council spokesman Malcolm Hopwood, reported, “The city's stormwater system had been unable to cope with the volume of water, and city council work crews were clearing grates and channels of debris and blockages.”

Southern Australia recently went through a great deal of loss after the bushfires, and now New Zealand police forensic experts have come forward with their helping hand in identifying the victims.
“Australia has accepted an offer of help from the New Zealand Police, but the number of personnel involved and when they would leave for Australia are to be confirmed,” said Police National Headquarters spokesman Jon Neilson.
