Air New Zealand has announced its plans to slash a daily flight between Whanganui and Auckland from March next year.

Concerns regarding the health of global economic growth and low commodity prices are reason behind the set back in the Australian stock market. On Wednesday, it opened significantly lower after an unenthusiastic guidance from Wall Street.
The S&P ASX 200 index opened 1.1 percent down at 5,298.1 points. The benchmark lost 60.60 points or 1.13 percent in the late-morning trading.

Even on Tuesday, the north country Verizon workers continued to picket in order to attract attention to their mainly related to issues of reduced membership and job security. Almost 36,000 workers have joined the strike.
Gene Cota, Verizon employee for eighteen years said, "They want to close down call centers, close certain buildings, shuffle people around."
