Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), a leading global fast food company, has announced the launch of its edible nail polish called "Finger lickingood" in Hong Kong this week.
The chicken flavoured nail polish will be available in two colours, beige and red. The product will be made from edible and natural ingredients. The company said that the nail polishes will taste like their signature chicken flavours, original and hot and spicy and will soon be available to the general public. The company said that the product will allow customers to make a fashion statement while also enjoy the fried chicken flavours by licking their fingers.
The fast food giant has tied up with marketing firm Ogilvy and Mather (O and M) and has devised a social media campaign to promote KFC's edible nail polishes. The company has also released a video showing a girl licking her fingers and a boy dancing while showing off his painted nails. KFC has also sent nail polish samples to various media organisations.
Those who tried the product said that the nail polished are easy to put on the nail but has problems sticking and dries up quickly. They said that the nail polish tastes more like spices past used by KFC and less like the chicken.
