After a jump of 10 cents in gas prices last week in South Florida, the same trend is expected to continue even this week.
The rise in oil prices is mainly attributed to higher demand for gasoline says AAA. Even the crude oil prices jumped for three consecutive weeks.
According to auto club AAA, the average price of regular unleaded is $2.33 per gallon in Palm Beach County which is ten cents higher than one week back. However, compared to the price one year back its 39 cents lower.
The average gas price of regular unleaded gas in Miami-Dade County is $2.28. That's 9 cents more as compared to one week back and 38 cents cheaper than one year back.
The average price at Broward County is $2.27 which is also 10 cents higher compared to one week back and 39 cents lower compared to one year ago.
Gas price tracker, gasbuddy.com reveals that gas is cheapest in Miami at $2.09 and Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach at $2.15.
Mark Jenkins, an AAA spokesman said "Gas prices could climb another 8 to 10 cents this week in response to the recent hike in oil prices."
