Roger Award 2015 Goes To IAGThe organizers announced that the 2015 Roger Award for the 'worst transnational corporation operating in Aotearoa/New Zealand' goes to IAG.

The six finalists for the dubious award were IAG/State Insurance, Apple, Serco, Westpac, Bunnings and Media Works.
The winner of the award is selected by judges evaluating four criteria namely, Economic Dominance, Impact on people, Environmental damage and abuse of animals and Political interference. The Roger Award for the worst transnational corporation operating in Aotearoa/New Zealand is an annual media campaign that started in 1997. The judges include activists, businesspeople, trade unionist and academics.

It has been five years since the deadly 2011 Christchurch earthquake and for the insurance giant it's the fourth straight year when it reached the finals.
Murray Horton, secretary of Campaign Against Foreign Control of Aotearoa said, "IAG was a finalist for the fourth consecutive year, which will be no surprise to anyone who has lived in Christchurch since 2010."

Out of the five judges, three believed the IAG was the clear winner due to its economic domination and impact on the people.

Mr Horton said IAG disclosed a noteworthy portion of the costs from the Canterbury quake in the Singapore which has a lower tax jurisdiction. Last year, IAG New Zealand chief, Jacki Johnson was the top most paid chief executive in the country with $4.59 million. He said, "There's money to be made from other people's misery."
