Woman dies after bus accident near Rotorua

People had called the emergency services at 7.40pm on Saturday following the accident at the intersection of TeNgae Rd and Coulter Rd at Owhata, on the eastern shore the lake.The Police Serious Crash Unit is now conducting an investigation into the accident. Senior Sergeant Karl Konlechner of the Bay of Plenty District Command Centre said that no additional information is available on the incidence.

After taking out an investigation in a case of 16-year-old Rotorua boy's death case, Rotorua Coroner Wallace Bain has warned people that even a single puff from a cigarette lighter is enough to kill.
Therefore, he has asked authorities concerned to take an action on the same. Bain said he has investigated the case and found that the boy lost his life after inhaling hydrocarbon (butane).
Toddler Elliot to Undergo Plastic Surgery

The boy, Elliott, was brought to Rotorua Hospital for the first time in September. He had symptoms of meningococcal C.
Tree falls On Forestry Worker
Submitted by Dinesh Chandra Gaur on Fri, 10/21/2011 - 12:35Due to falling of tree on him, a forestry worker suffered spinal and neck injuries. He was later evacuated by his co-workers, who cut the tree into sections, and took him out.
He was working at the Kaingaroa Forest, which is in the south of Rotorua, and the forest place is quite steep. After he got evacuated, a Taupo Rescue Helicopter was called in to fly him to Waikato Hospital as otherwise; he would not have got timely treatment due to steep terrain.
After receiving first aid, he was found conscious, but in pain.
Rotorua Waterways Carries Polluted Chemical, Claims Study
