Newshub's owners Mediaworks has apologised to the Reserve Bank of New Zealand after it admitted that one its staff told his colleagues about the bank's decision to lower interest rates about an hour before the official announcement.

The Greens Party wants to strengthen KiwiBank in order to make it better compete with the foreign owned big four banks paving a path for better interest rates.

A gay couple living in Auckland in New Zealand, who had three surrogate babies in Mexico, have found themselves stranded in the Latin American country.

Nicky Leonard Beard, who is 32 years old and his husband David Beard, who is 41 years old had recently celebrated the firth of their three babies. The babies, Lachlan, Kelly and Blake were born to two surrogate mothers in Mexico in the previous month. The couple are among the last gay couple to go to Mexico for surrogacy as the country has recently changed its laws relating to the subject.

The New Zealand dollar gained on Friday as currencies of commodity producing countries like Canada, Australia and New Zealand was favored by the investors. The investors' appetite for higher risk assets connected to global growth prospects improved.
