Anna Curzon, the managing director at Xero's New Zealand has said that small business in the country will have access to an unprecedented level of data for the first time allowing them to be aware of the larger market.

Real Estate Institute of New Zealand said that the price of dairy farms continued to drop in the first quarter of 2016.

According to the institute, average sales price per hectare for dairy farms dropped to $33,897 when compared to $36,687 in the three months till Feb and $37,761 in the March quarter, last year. The institute said the average dairy farm size in the March quarter was 121 hectares.

The Dairy Farm Price index scaled 4.3 percent in the March quarter but slipped 15.9 per cent when compared to the same period one year ago.

Inflation increased a little in the quarter that ended in March as cheaper fuel prices were balanced with higher cigarette prices.

In the first quarter of the year, the Consumers Price Index increased 0.2 percent overturning the decline of the earlier quarter's 0.5 percent.
