In response to an accident at the Christchurch show on Friday, there are reports that Marlborough A&P Association might call for erecting nets for wood chopping events. It was told that during the event, an axe had hit a male spectator in the groin area, who was later rushed to Christchurch Hospital. The man had to go for a surgery and was later confirmed to be in stable condition.

Christchurch Hospital Welcomes New Linear Accelerator

It has been installed by the Canterbury District Health Board, costing them $3 million and is expected to provide quality and timely service to Canterbury and other regions cancer patients.

Recently, the New Zealand rescue team saved an American engineer who had been struggling to live in the South Pole. It has been informed that Renee-Nicole Douceur received brain stroke in the month of August, 2011. But due to bad climate, she was not provided with timely care.
Scientist from South Pole Station Rescued

It was on August 27th that she was suspected to have had a stroke. There were other health complications registered as well, such as problem in vision, speech and memory. Many predicted that this might be as a result of a possible tumor that she had.
Christchurch Government Fails to Protect the City against Effects of Earthquake

People of Christchurch are criticizing Government for not making proper arrangements in order to deal with the after-effects of earthquake in the region. The region witnessed two earthquakes and that too in an extremely short period of time.
