According to the latest data available, the average price of homes in Christchurch rose to a whopping$450,000 during the month of April, 2016.
Lyttelton Port sentenced to Pay About $130,000 for Worker’s Accidental Death

Judge John Strettell of the Christchurch District Court ordered the Lyttelton Port Company to pay around $130,000 as compensation for an accident on a scissor lift that killed a port last year.
Brad Fletcher, an employee of the port company died in August last year while he was working on the scissor-lift which toppled over.

Today Prime Minister John Key, Brownlee and Health Minister Tony Ryall attended the launch of the metro sport facility with Roger Sutton, Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority chief executive, Warwick Isaacs, Christchurch Central Development Unit director and city councillors.
