Ford Motor is looking for being more than just a traditional car maker. In the recent years it has moved to develop its self-driving cars, set roots in Silicon Valley and has financed ride-sharing start-ups.

All these moves are seen as its effort to be a "mobility company" and not just a car manufacturer. The main aim might be to be like Google and Tesla Motors by shaping the future of how people travel from one place to other.

Ford Motor Co. said that the company has earned a record pretax profit in 2015. The amount is close to $10.5 billion. The car manufacturer says that, the 2016 results would either match or beat this year's results.
