As there have been enough tensions on the high exchange rates, it is expected that it will be the hot topic for discussion at the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (Apec) leaders meeting in Japan this week. According to the Prime Minister John Key, there will be some moves in the coming time with a view to control the exchange rates as the other countries have also gone towards the same path.

While on the one end, the Prime Minister John Key is very confident of the fact that the kiwi dollar will continue to climb against its US counterpart but the industry experts are still not very much sure on the road movement of the same. It is to be mentioned here that the Kiwi currency has moved to a 30-month high recently and it is currently being traded at just under the US80 cents level.
Few tourists because of higher air tax

Britain's huge increase in airport departure tax has been attacked by PM John Key. He said that the same will be affecting the flow of traffic that will come from the air passage.
The British air passenger duty for New Zealand has risen by as much as 55 per cent on Monday while the tax bill for economy passengers have been moved from 55 to 85 and for premium passenger the rise has been to the tune of 110 to 170.
