Greeters to return to Wal-Mart gates

The company has also said that it will position a customer host at stores that are at a higher risk of theft. The role of the customer host will not only be to greet customers but also check receipts to prevent theft. The company stores faced a problem with theft in the previous year. The customer hosts will be trained to help prevent thefts at stores.
Two Wal-Mart Locations in Los Angeles to Shutter on Sunday

On Friday in an announcement, Wal-Mart announced that it will close 269 locations globally. Out of the seven stores scheduled for closure in Southern California, two will be shuttered on Sunday.
The other five Wal-Marts to be closed in Southern California are the ones located in downtown Long Beach, Bell Gardens, Hawaiian Gardens, Altadena and San Bernardino. They will close their doors for the last time on January 28.

Next year, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. plans to raise the minimum wage to $10 per hour. After that, its competitors like Target Corp. will also feel the heat if they do not follow the footsteps or they will risk losing some of their best workers, if not they would jeopardize profits.
