Auckland naval base diesel spill is much smaller than feared
Submitted by Praneet Kessani on Wed, 05/04/2016 - 03:07Officials have said that the recent diesel spill at Devonport Naval Base in Auckland is much smaller than 30,000 litres suspected by some.
The authorities had called Fire Service, Auckland Council staff and Navy personnel to investigate the oil spill and they said that the diesel spilled is believed to be less than 100 litres of diesel and not 30,000 litres as expected earlier. The emergency officials were called to the site this morning for investigating the spill.
Trend of 10 Cents Rise in Gas Prices Last Week Could Continue This Week

After a jump of 10 cents in gas prices last week in South Florida, the same trend is expected to continue even this week.
The rise in oil prices is mainly attributed to higher demand for gasoline says AAA. Even the crude oil prices jumped for three consecutive weeks.

Gas Prices Rise in Connecticut but Still Cheaper than Last Year

Survey of two hundred and twenty nine gas stations by GasBuddy in the New Haven area showed that gas prices scaled 7.2 cents a gallon in the last week. With that, the mean gas price in the New Haven area lingered around $2.21 cents a gallon. Compared to the national average, the price is 10 cents a gallon more. In the last week it increased 6.9 cents a gallon.
MidAmerican Energy Proposes to Invest $3.6Billion to Iowa’s Wind Power

It announced investment of $3.6 billion with which Des Moines, Iowa's largest utility, MidAmerican would get eighty five percent of its energy from wind. At the event the company's CEO Bill Fehrman was present with Governor Terry Branstad and Debi Durham, Iowa's economic development director.
Fehrman said, "We have a dream to deliver 100 percent renewable energy to our customers."
Residents of Porter Ranch Once Again Complaint about Odor in the Air

The reports of smell of natural gas drifting through the neighborhood immediately prompted an investigation from air regulators. The complaints were made to KTLA and in a private Facebook group by the residents. A member of the Porter Ranch Gas Leak group wrote, "Awful smell at Tampa and Sesnon." Another one replied, "Horrible gas smell hit me in the face when I came out of my car by Earl's donuts."
