In a Friday disclosure, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has revealed that Honda Motor is issuing a recall of 886,815 Odyssey minivans because of potential fire hazard related to fuel-pump defect in the vehicles.

In a disclosure which will further mount the pressure on General Motors (GM), consumer group Center for Auto Safety (CAS) said on Thursday that a review of federal crash data has revealed that undeployed air-bags in GM cars resulted in as many as 303 deaths.

Automobile testers at independent product-testing magazine Consumer Reports (CR) have picked electric carmaker Tesla Motors' battery-powered Model S sedan as the 'best overall' car for 2014 --- the first US car to receive the huge honor.
The 'best overall' ranking for the Model S came after the car topped CR's annual ranking; beating the Audi A6, Toyota Prius and BMW 328i.
